PUMA vs. UA Youtube (Round 3)

Observing PUMA’s Youtube channel, I went to their playlists and noticed that they have a variety like:
·       PUMA Sportstyle
·       PUMA x The Weeknd
·       PUMA Football | We are THE Arsenal
·       PUMA Women | #DoYou
With all these channels, subscribers and non-subscribers can really focus on what they want to watch with a simple click on the playlist tab.
PUMA’s recent posts were videos on sports, dance videos, and celebrities. They post approximately 2 posts a week leaving subscribers on their toes for the next video.
A popular video that PUMA has posted is called “SS18 FENTY PUMA by Rihanna Runway Highlights” which is a video of Rihanna helping out models with their dresses before they hit the runway! This video got 17,899 views with 139 likes, and 24 dislikes.

Under Armour’s playlist is very broad! From sports to interviews to French videos. Great for subscribers or viewers that are not from North America! I love how UA doesn’t just focus on English, but tries to broaden their field and adding videos in different languages, but also, videos of athletes and celebrities from differen countries. This definitely sets them apart from PUMA. +1 for UA!
UA does not upload videos very often. Looking at their videos, they upload approximately 4x a month on the other hand, PUMA posts approximately twice a week! You decide!


UA’s most popular video got a high 1,992,976 views, 306 likes, and 7 dislikes! Great video, UA!

Adidas use of the 50/50 rule is strong due to the brand using the same theme “Here to create” while presenting it in new and different ways such as videos, pictures and cover photos.

The Most successful post on this platform within the 25 post range is a promotional video presenting the common slogan and hashtag #HereToCreate with 727K Views and 220 Shares and 3,420 likes.

A common theme throughout Adidas posts is classifying different types of lifestyles in which their shoes should be worn. These classifications are; Athlete, Freak and Creator embodied by the three professional athletes that appear the most in their posts.











 Crocs use of the 50/50 Rule is also strong utilizing constant celebrity personalities: John Cena, Drew Barrymore and Henry Lau in different media forms including picture posts, videos and behind the scenes videos. They also promote a positive self-image campaign which is centered around Mrs. Barrymore.

These different forms of promotion maintaining constant themes while being presenting in new and different ways indicated their social media team knows what they are doing.
The most successful post on this platform within the 25 post range is a # ComeAsYouAre social campaign video featuring the three celebrity representatives. This post has 905: Views, 71 shares and 500 likes.



Adidas has a much larger presence on every level within this platform. Using the the 50/50 rule and maintaining high production quality keeps Adidas thriving. While Crocs use the 50/50 rule it isn’t as evident and the production quality in their promotional posts are lacking.

These posts use common hastags such and #CRAZY based upon a new shoe and # HereToCreate a lifestyle promotion. They do use the 50/50 rule by presenting common themes such as #CRAZY 8 centered around the new shoe release on different Icons such as @YoungThug and @playboicarti.

The 50/50 rule is evident on this platform in the form of common celebrities such as Drew Barrymore endorsing her social campaign in a range of media forms while always showing new and different Croc forms.
