Social Media Promotion Content Idea for Adidas

This is a Student-concept for a Sheridan Pilon School of business Digital Marketing Course.

 By: Taylor F

The following is a social media campaign designed for Adidas. Upon multiple social media platforms Adidas uses professional athletes at the top of their respective sports to endorse the different shoes. My Idea is to use these professional athletes are create a weekly expose in which the top athlete would meet, practice with and present a years sponsorship to a rising amateur athlete in the same sport. This promotion would be rolled out on youtube in the form of weekly 3.5 minute videos. Tripling the average length of their posts while maintaining the same familiar spokespeople and #HereToCreate themes will strengthen the 50/50 rule by maintaining familiar faces in a different fresh outreach form.
The goal of this promotion is to bridge and gap between amateur and professional sport, making top shoe models more accessible to the up and coming generation. This also fosters the Adidas community as to qualify the amateur would have to post a video on YouTube and twitter totaling one minute showing off how they develop their respective skills. The main hashtags linking together this promotion would be #WatchMeGrow and #AdidasAlwaysAdvance.

This promotion would be launched in the spring, 3 months for applicants to post in which twitter and Facebook posts would mention the hashtags and possible sponsorship, and one more month for a weekly video release schedule.

Sample applicant Twitter Post:
@Adidas This is my #AdidasAlwaysAdvance aplication video; check these skills out! #WatchMeGrow  ( Link to video posted by applicant )

Sample Video Concept for a weekly release: James Edward Harden Jr. a basketball star sponsored by adidas visits an inner city basketball of an applicant. Within the video he runs a practice for the kids, and then awards a shoe and uniform sponsorship to the selected applicant and his team.
